Global Agency of Geosciences Experts

02-03c Carbonate reservoirs

Objectives

An introduction to the deposition system and sequence stratigraphy of carbonates. Differing diagenetic carbonate environments, porosity and porosity modification and recognition tools. Early diagenesis and porosity modification in a sequence stratigraphic framework and the burial diagenetic environment.

Who should attend

Geoscientists and engineers who wish to understand the fundamentals of carbonate environments, their diagenesis, porosity and how this effects reservoir effectiveness.

Prerequisites

A geoscience background and some knowledge of carbonate sedimentary environments would be advantageous, but not essential.

Duration
